Our Ranges Make Their Perfect Meals

We believe in freedom of choice, and when it comes to owning a pet, this is never more important than when you are selecting their food. This is why we offer as great a range across our brands as we possibly can, bringing a smorgasbord of delightful delicacies that also offer a more mature dog everything they need in nutrition, to keep them pottering about during the day.

Slobber & Chops Dry Dog Food and Nora Nose Best Cold Pressed Food are both available to buy online or in our very own shop, and each offers just the right mix for senior diets. To make sure each delectable bag stays that way, we even ensure that these foods are cooked at a lower temperature, keeping every kibble piece as packed with protein and nutrients as possible.

As the first of our senior dog food brands, Slobber & Chops Dry Dog Food is perfectly formulated to offer any older dog the nutrients they need, and as much of them as they need to complete a day of walks, snoozing and spending time with you. From L-Carnitine to maintain their muscle mass and a healthy weight, to Glucosamine, Chondroitin and MSM for joint care and mobility, our dry food is all set to keep them in the happy, healthy life they have always known. Let them have a munch on a bag of our kibble and you may soon start to see the difference it makes in their movement and merriment.

Our Nora Nose Best range may offer a more select range of senior pet foods, but you may rest assured that every bag you buy offers mature dogs the same rich nutrition and mouth watering flavour as a home-cooked meal. Each bite has been formulated to offer a gentle, easily digestible breakfast or dinner, too, so even the oldest and most delicate of stomachs will always be kept from rumbling when they shouldn’t.

Giving Them the Best, For All of Their Days

Your dog deserves nothing but the best, of course, and we understand that every ingredient that goes into a recipe may come with its own worry. Will it be exactly what your dog needs for their particular ailments? Will it encourage a healthy coat or skin? Will your dog be allergic to it? We have had all these concerns ourselves in the past, which is why we do everything we can to alleviate them for our customers. This means selecting only high-quality, low-calorie ingredients that are also hypoallergenic, offering greater protection for the stomach and the skin, reducing the risk of inflammation and helping to fight against skin allergies.

We also work closely with leading nutritionists in the industry whenever we formulate a new recipe, and each bag we create is signed off and approved by a trusted vet before going on sale in our shop or online.

You can put your trust in us to create premium-grade pet food for your Beagle, German Shepherd or Shiba Inu, and you’ll never have to worry about what’s being put into your pet’s meals, either. This is because every ingredient we use will go on the label, in order of percentage in the recipe, keeping our work more open and honest in comparison to some brands found online or on supermarket shelves.

We are delighted to say that our ranges can bring out the best in terms of nutrition for any older pooch or hound, whether you need to be careful with their joint care, are looking to maintain their muscle mass, or have put them on a low-calorie diet to let them lose a bit of weight.

Our bags are also available in a range of sizes, from 2kg for small breeds, up to 12kg for large breeds and 15kg for working dogs (even if he or she is retired, she may still need the energy!). This means you’ll always find a bag that’s just the right size for your pet.

You may also be wondering how much the delivery will cost to get your dog’s new, delicious dinners to your door. However, there is no need to go rushing to check your budget yet, as all orders and subscriptions coming from Mainland UK will be delivered for free. This keeps the costs down for you and ensures that your best friend will be getting the treat meals that they love.

Our Cooking Process Packs in Protein

The cooking process we use, particularly for Nora Nose Best, is designed to keep your dog’s meals as full of protein and nutritionally-rich as possible. This is because, unlike many other wet and dry dog food brands, it is cooked at a lower temperature that doesn’t denature its ingredients. Instead, they are left intact and ready to be absorbed into your four-legged senior citizen’s system.

This gives them everything they need to carry on with their day as they know best, while keeping in the full flavours that best mirror a dog’s natural diet. So, not only is our food designed to keep your dog healthy and happy, it’s also ideal for keeping them excited at mealtimes!

Delicious Ingredients They Deserve

We do admit, that we believe in spoiling dogs just a little, and there’s no need to feel guilty about it when you’re also offering them something natural, healthy and high quality. Every delicious, low-calorie morsel in our bags is cooked up from an ethically raised or homegrown ingredient, with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives topping up the rest. We just don’t feel the need for them, when our functional ingredients can offer up a higher amount of nutrition for your old pooch in comparison to wet or dry food found on supermarket shelves, or elsewhere online.

Just some of the healthy, irresistible ingredients you can expect to find in your senior dog’s food bags include:

  • Chicken
  • Aberdeen Angus Beef
  • Lamb
  • Pork
  • Duck
  • Game (Venison)
  • Fish such as Salmon and Trout (we also use omega-3 from fish oils ‒ it’s great for joint care!)
  • Seaweed
  • Chicory
  • Yucca

At the heart of every formula, we also use a unique combination of potato and sweet potato, as these root vegetables offer a grain-free, hypoallergenic alternative that should see every dog able to crunch their way through the kibble and pellets we offer up. This should see them kept comfortable at every meal, no matter how sensitive their internal system is, while helping them to stave off annoying, itchy skin allergies.

Breeds such as Golden Retrievers, Yorkshire Terriers and Cocker Spaniels are all at a higher risk for skin allergies caused by the environment, so you may wish to watch out for this for your own animal companion when choosing their food.

Keep Healthy & Happy with Slobber & Chops

If you have been looking to bring the bright spark back to your old pooch’s eyes at mealtimes but also want to ensure that they’ll be getting all the goodness and nutrition they need in their golden years, then our senior dog food brands are the answer.

We keep our recipe ranges as chock-full of nutrients as we can while offering a full menu of flavours that should see any mature dog, whether they’re a small breed or large breed, drooling at the very mention of breakfast or dinner (even more than usual, anyway!). We want nothing more than to make sure your old timer is getting the best of both worlds, and we believe that this is the best way to do it.

Browse our fanciful options and just think of your Beagle or Golden Retriever getting up from their basket, favourite chair or spot on the sofa, tail slowly wagging as they start to smell the delicacies you’ve brought home for them. Then, when you know which bag they’ll love the most, place an order and wait as eagerly as they will for it to arrive on your doorstep.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Should I Transition My Older Dog Onto Your Brand?

We completely understand any hesitation in changing the diet of a mature dog, especially in comparison to younger dogs who may not have such sensitive stomachs. To avoid upsets, we would highly recommend making the transition onto any of our foods slow, with the food introduced gradually. Start by gently mixing in a little bit of our dry or cold pressed food with a normal bowl of their usual kibble or wet food brand. Then, over about 7-10 days, build this up until they’re making their way through an entire bowl of food.

We’ve worked out that this is how much time you need to give both small and large breeds ample opportunity to develop a taste for their new meals, as well as to let their stomachs settle. It will also give you time to perfect the portion taken from each bag, so you know your beloved pet will be getting just the right size meal every day.

If you have an older dog who is missing a few of his or her teeth or has a more sensitive jaw these days, you can also soften up the kibble or cold pressed pellets with a bit of warm water.

However you choose to serve up your best friend’s new favourite meal, you should also make sure they have a good source of clean water to drink from as well!
