You can learn to groom your own pampered pooch in our one-day dog grooming class, or you can take up a longer course with higher qualifications and certification, such as our 30-day Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming & Salon Management.
We cater both to beginners building up their confidence in the world of animal care and to those searching for the ideal place to gain groomer certification and find a gateway into a competitive and growing industry. We’ll even provide further tuition to those already established in the world of professional dog grooming and are keen to continue developing their skills.

This advanced course will result in an industry leading qualification in Dog Grooming and Salon Management and requires 31 days of attendance at the Bone Idol Academy, Hove.
This course includes the level 3 qualification in Emergency Canine First Aid.
The 30 Day course must be completed over 6 months from the Induction day and costs £4995
Alternatively there are two 'fast track' options are available to experienced dog groomer wishing to gain this qualification.
All Diploma courses require eight written assessments and three Practical Assessments.
This intermediate course is completed over 16 days attendance at the Academy. With practical skills and theory classes, followed by a practical exam to gain your qualification.
This 15 day Introduction to Styling Dogs course costs £2995
Additionally you can add the level 3 qualification in Emergency Canine First Aid for just £129 when you book this course. This will add a day to the duration of your course.

The iPET Network Level 3 Certificate in Dog Grooming and Introduction to Styling is a vocation and practical skills course designed to be flexible. This is to meet the real life needs and circumstances of its Candidates. It is aimed at Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish a selection of dog breeds, understand health and safety in a dog grooming salon and understanding health checking, handling and canine behaviour.
Leading industry experts have reviewed this qualification to ensure the outcome is appropriate for the Dog Grooming industry and the continued growth and development of the sector.
The qualification is an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning to ensure that vocational skills lead the qualification with underpinned knowledge developed throughout.

This day is ideal for anyone who would like an insight into our courses and learn the basics of dog grooming. Our friendly team will make you welcome and be available to answer your questions during the day. This would assist you in deciding on whether dog grooming is the right career for you before proceeding with the longer courses.
These salon experience days also appeal to graduates who want to spend an extra days training in a working salon environment rather than a class room environment.
This experience day will help build your confidence and enable you to further practice your learned skills following the qualification course in the Bone Idol Academy. It offers you an insight of the fast pace nature of a busy grooming salon.
You will spend the day working alongside an experienced stylist who can show you varying methods and techniques to suit the dogs through the door that day.
An added bonus is that if you pay for one day taster day and you then enrol on a course over 10 days in length, we will deduct the taster day cost from the overall course price. (You must book within one month of your completed taster day.)

This one-day course has been created for those wanting to learn to groom their own dog at home. You will learn the whole process from start to finish. You can bring your dog to us for the day and learn how to create one specific style you like and gain the skills you need to work on your own dog’s coat type. This will save you a lifetime of cost taking your dog to the groomers and give you fond bonding time with your favourite pooch.
We will share our top tips and show you how every step of the dog groom is managed with your furry friend always taking centre stage.
When you book, we will ask for the breed of your dog and prepare an information pack about your dog’s coat type, the right tools to use and a step by step guide on how to groom your dog. However, you will need to come prepared with a notebook to take notes of any extra tips you learn on the day.

By the end of the day you will have learned how to groom your dog from start to finish. You may even be inspired to start a new career in dog grooming.
